today, the mermaid enjoyed reading this article on a philosopher who is involved in researching octopus intelligence. the mermaid is very interested in the research’s outcomes. while she has had many interactions with cephalopods, she, too, finds them difficult to understand. mermaids sometimes hire them to perform difficult tasks in exchange for food. she is also interested in the question that landfolk ask: what octopi could accomplish if they lived longer?
