currents of time

the mermaid has just heard about an exhibition called ‘currents of time’. it hosts the project ‘floating coffins’ by zineb sedira. according to the website (the exhibition is not on until 25 may),

‘the film, seen on a complex arrangement of 14 screens with layered sound compiled by mikhail karikis, moves between figures removing scraps, birds preparing to migrate and the extraordinary landscape where desert, sea, and man’s occupation and struggle to survive, combine.’

intriguing!

the mermaid will go and see it as soon as she is back from her whirlpools south of the equator. it’s on from 21 may – 25 july at iniva, rivington place, london ec2a 3ba. opening times are: tuesday – friday: 11am – 6pm. thursday until 9pm, last admission 8.30pm, saturday: 12 – 6pm.

for those who live too far to visit the exhibition, here is a little online gallery!
